It only took us two days of real house hunting to find the place
we wanted to rent... That's probably because we managed to
quickly look at about a dozen extremely sub-par overpriced
places. So when we saw the lovely almost new home
at 6199 Deergrass Circle, we just couldn't pass it up.
The house is quite nice inside, and has a small
backyard as well as a tiny rooftop patio. Outdoor living
space was the highest of priorities for us - or else why live in
New Mexico... right? It's a 2 bed / 2 bath (visitors
welcome!), the first of our seven residences as a couple to have
more than 1 bed OR bathroom. The best part is probably the
location, the "sought after" Bosque area. We
back up to the preserve running along the banks of the Rio
Grande, which is lined with cottonwood trees and has a very long
biking/walking path running the length of the city. Right
now it looks a bit barren from our rooftop, but we're told the
cottonwoods bloom any time now and will be beautiful. If
not, at least we can see the Sandia mountains in the distance.
Since the lease doesn't start until April 1st, we're heading
to Puerto Vallarta for the rest of the month to live free and
easy for a while. We're currently on American Airlines
flight #801 heading into Mexico. At the very end of March,
we come back and head for our storage unit in Riverside,
California to get our stuff to bring back to Albuquerque...
should be like Christmas opening our boxes after 2 1/2 years! |
