Although we've had a few clouds and even a brief downpour
yesterday (during which we were lucky enough to be relaxing in
the hotel), the weather has largely been sunny and even warm at
times these last few days. Our active pace has slowed
considerably (due at least in part to sore feet, tired legs and
a few blisters) since we arrived in Paris and we just returned
from a leisurely park bench lunch (salami on a baguette for
Caroline and a Croque Monsier, aka ham and cheese, for Scott) at
the Place des Vosges in our old neighborhood, Le Marais.
It's been great having the luxury of being able to slow down and
truly enjoy some of the many beautifully-tended and relaxing
green spaces and parks that Paris is famous for.
Yesterday, we spent a pleasant hour or so simply relaxing in the
sun at the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg, where we were
entertained by watching a strange Italian entertainment troupe
of some sort, who appeared to be beer-bonging a box of milk
(???) in their free time.
Although we've enjoyed our time in Paris, we're looking
forward to taking the train to Amsterdam tomorrow! |
